About Giovanni Agusta
Born in Washington DC to Italian parents, Giovanni Agusta grew up in Monaco and began his music career early. Moving to South Africa in 2000, he became a notable music producer and DJ. In 2012, he founded the Playtime in Paradise festival, and his 2014 breakout at Rocking Daisies cemented his reputation in South Africa’s music scene. He established the acclaimed EDM club ERA and collaborated with international artists. By 2015, he curated Rocking the Daisies and performed in Europe. His involvement with AfrikaBurn and managing the Garden Routes Festival in 2017 further highlighted his influence. Relocating to London in 2021, he composed for the UN Environment Programme’s 50th Anniversary. In late 2023, he formed Don Gio’s Trio, recording an EP and performing in Cape Town. His 2024 project “Waterfalls Never End” launched The ROARR charity campaign.
